Your Team Doesn’t Need a Ghost Boss 👻
Every word you fake.

Here’s the ugly truth: when you shut down and disappear, you’re not avoiding conflict—you’re building it brick by brick. Silence doesn’t land as calm. It lands as creepy.
Think about it: your team isn’t clairvoyant. They don’t know you’re “just taking time.” They only know you vanished. And when you vanish, they invent stories—and none of those stories end well for you.
Here’s the play:

Silence is never neutral. It always says something (usually the wrong thing).

Conflict ignored is conflict designed. You’re not dodging drama, you’re creating it.

A 10-second signal beats 10 days of gossip. Even “I need 24 hours to think this through” keeps the floor steady.
So yeah—pause. Cool off. Process. But say it out loud. Communicate the pause. Otherwise you’re not a leader, you’re the ghost in the breakroom, sipping coffee and scaring the hell out of everyone.
