Every time a company launches an “anonymous feedback survey,” somewhere in the universe… a manager flinches.
Let’s call it what it is—most of those “helpful” comments aren’t feedback.
They’re grenades. Pulled, tossed, and left for someone else to figure out.
Anonymous feedback pretends to create honesty… while quietly removing the one thing honesty needs: a name and a heartbeat.
When feedback has no face, it loses its weight.
When there’s no dialogue, it loses its direction.
And when people are too afraid to attach their name, it tells us everything we need to know—
not about the feedback… but about the culture.
If people can’t speak the truth out loud, the issue isn’t the survey.
It’s the silence underneath it.
So maybe it’s time to stop collecting anonymous forms
and start creating conversations brave enough to have names attached.
Because real trust doesn’t come from secrecy.
It comes from safety.
