I was at an endodontist appointment this week and as usual, ended up having a conversation with the woman sitting next to me in the lobby. I still find it funny how this happens. I promise I don’t start it! I go in fully expecting to have a quiet introspective moment in the waiting room and next thing I know, someone is asking me a question, then ten minutes have gone by and I somehow know they’re deepest, darkest secrets and what is keeping them awake at night. 😂
She confided in me that there was something she wanted to do for a long time, but she kept waiting until she felt more confident. She wanted more experience, more information, and more proof that she was making the right choice. As I listened, I realized she already had a pretty good idea of what to do, why she should and how to do it; she was really just waiting for someone to guarantee that she won’t fail.
Haven’t we all done some version of this? We wait to feel confident before we take the chance, have the conversation, make the change, or finally do the thing we have been thinking about for months. We keep looking for more proof, more assurance. But at the end of the day, we are the CEOs of our own lives. Nobody is coming for us. If we want it, we need to go get it. Don’t be fooled, your time IS running out, so stop thinking and start doing!
True, we will not have all the answers before we begin but that just means we won’t be disappointed by our expectations along the way. We will be more open to going with the flow and being guided by the universe that way.

- What next step do you need to take? Just ONE step. You don’t need to know the whole path.
