IF THIS LANDED WITH YOU TODAY, TAKE A MOMENT AND ASK YOURSELF… WHERE IN YOUR LIFE ARE YOU BEING ASKED TO SLOW DOWN, REBUILD, AND TRUST THE PROCESS EVEN WHEN IT FEELS UNCOMFORTABLE?

This season has been stretching me in a way I didn’t see coming. You already know what happened back in January, how a simple moment turned into something life-altering, how fast everything shifted, and how close I came to losing more than just my thumb.
Back then, I didn’t really get it… but what comes after the crisis is the part that takes time, healing.

Right now my days include hand exercises that feel almost too small to matter, slow movements, repeated over and over, and if I’m honest, there are moments where I catch myself thinking, is this really doing anything? I’m used to moving fast, making things happen, seeing progress in real time, and this has forced me into a completely different rhythm, where progress is hard to see.
Healing has a way of changing your perspective whether you’re ready for it or not, it pulls you out of urgency and drops you into presence, it asks you to pay attention to what you usually rush past, and it reminds you that strength does not usually come from big moments, it comes from the small things you keep doing, over and over again. The discipline of showing up when the results haven’t caught up yet. That’s what I’m learning right now, and I have a feeling this applies far beyond physical healing.

Maybe for you it’s a relationship you’re trying to repair, a team you’re trying to rebuild, or even just your own energy after pushing too hard for too long. It can feel frustrating when things aren’t moving at the pace you want, when the wins feel small, when you’re putting in effort and wondering if it’s landing anywhere. I get that in a very real way right now. And at the same time, I can feel that something deeper is being rebuilt, something more sustainable, more grounded, more intentional.
There’s also a part of this that has been surprisingly hard for me, and that’s receiving help. Letting people show up, letting them support me, letting them care in ways I usually reserve for others. If you’re someone who leads, who carries a lot, who is used to being the strong one, you know exactly what I mean. This season has reminded me that there’s strength in allowing others in, in creating space for connection instead of always being the one holding everything together.

We’ve kept our sense of humor through all of this, joking that a lion must have taken my thumb before I fully learned how to tame it, and as funny as that sounds, humor has been one of the things that kept me steady when things felt intense. It helped me breathe, it helped me stay present, and it reminded me that even in the middle of something hard, there’s still space for lightness.
These days, a win for me looks like a little more movement than yesterday, a little more control, a little more feeling coming back, and I’ve learned to respect that in a way I never had to before. Healing has slowed me down, and in doing that, it’s also deepened me.

I’m still in it, still healing, still doing the work, and in a way I didn’t expect, I can feel that this is shaping me into someone stronger, steadier, and more aware than before. And if you’re in your own version of healing right now, I hope you give yourself the same grace to keep going, even when it feels slow, because this part matters more than it seems.
If this hit something for you, I’d love to hear where you’re in the middle of rebuilding or healing right now… send me a message, I read every single one and I’m in it with you.
