Comparison doesn’t just steal joy. It quietly creates conflict.
Someone feels someone else got what they deserved. Someone assumes another person’s life is easier, smoother, luckier. Meanwhile, that same person might be looking up the ladder feeling behind, inadequate, or invisible.
Perspective is slippery like that.
There’s a line I keep coming back to: trees don’t even know you exist, but to an ant, you’re a giant. Some people look at your life and think you’ve made it. Others look at theirs and think you’re ahead of them. That gap messes with people.
When we stop noticing what’s already working and fixate on what’s missing, joy dries up fast. And it doesn’t stay contained. It shows up as impatience, distance, short replies, or unnecessary conflict. Even when we think we’re being “fine.”
If things feel off lately, it might not be your situation. It might be your perspective asking for a reset.
Mind your mind. It shapes what you give people long before you say a word.

If you want to recalibrate your perspective before it turns into tension or conflict, reach out!
